Festival of Thai aromatics, lemon, minty, bite of ginger, twist of citrus: Gilded Buddha
Lemon, mint and woody flavours of Lemongrass with the peppery, sweet, pungent bite of Ginger. Extra citrus added with the distinctly Thai flavour of aromatic Lime Kaffir.
Step 1: Serve a measure of Gilded Buddha
Step 2: Place a lemon slice and let it sit in the gin for a minute or two.
# Optional: Add a slice of ginger for extra flavour.
Step 3: Add ice
Step 4: Pour the tonic gently into the glass
Wow your guests by splitting a stick of lemongrass in two, then add it to a gin and tonic and stir as you serve. Add a single Kafir Lime leaf to get even more applause.
Dick Boot suggests that Gilded Buddha is a great appetizer before serving a Thai meal. Serve at the start when presenting the classic Som Tam salad (green papaya salad).
